[Listeners of 986TheMix.] On tonight's Herbie Allen Show.

[Herbie Allen]

Coming up on tonight's Herbie Allen Show, Elton John announced his
retirement earlier this year and many of today's Pop and Country artists
have paid tribute to him. I will be featuring selections from the two
different tribute albums put out this year, "Restoration the Songs of Elton
John and Bernie Taupin" Country, and "Revamp the Songs of Elton John &
Bernie Taupin" Pop. These albums feature selections such as Sam Smith's
beautiful version of "Daniel", to Little Big Town's unique take on "Rocket
Man", to a totally redone version of "Guess That's Why They Call it the
Blues". If you saw the TV special then you will have heard some of these, if
not, then it will be something different. Mixed into the show are some
classics from Elton himself, plus other cover versions of some of his songs.
I will have most of the normal show features, but some will be presented
differently. I will also be on our Teamtalk server if you want to come in
and chat. More details on our TeamTalk server are available on our homepage
(No on-air segments.) It's a slightly different show that starts at 7
